Our Partner
“On July 12, 2019, the Chaput-Avery Family Foundation announced a commitment to fund a new program for Girls Inc. at YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee named “The Chaput-Avery Scholars Program.” Girls Inc. is a national non-profit dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. With more than 1,400 Girls Inc. sites across the United States and Canada, Girls Inc. focuses on the whole girl, giving her the opportunity to grow up healthy, educated, and independent.”
The Chaput-Avery Family Foundation, founded in 2018 by Bob and Mary Chaput, is dedicated to strengthening leadership skills in girls and young women. This new program is designed to increase the ability for girls to attend and graduate from college and consists of two initiatives: the Scholars Program and the Foundation Scholarship.”

Our Partner, YWCA’s Girls Inc. Program
When we first created our Family Foundation dedicated to building leaderships skills in girls and preparing them to pursue post-secondary education, we searched existing non-profit organizations that focused on similar pursuits. When we discovered Girls, Inc. “Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold,” with a focus on Academic Enrichment & Support, we knew there could not be an organization more aligned with our goals. We reached out to the YWCA in Nashville TN and learned of their very successful Girls, Inc. program. Together, we developed the Chaput-Avery Leadership Scholars Program and Scholarship Fund that would enhance the Girls, Inc. in-school programming associated with the college admission process, while covering the tuition cost of a 4-year college for one applicant per year. The Girls, Inc. team at the YWCA in Nashville is incredibly experienced and creative in determining and addressing the girls’ needs for success in the 11th and 12th grades. We are so pleased with the effort and the results of our program.
