Encouraging Women Leaders

Our programs prepare high school girls to make smart decisions about going to college, and help fund their college costs.

Our Mission

The mission of the Chaput-Avery Family Foundation is to assist young women in their pursuit of higher education, and improved health and well-being, thereby preparing them to play increasingly important roles as leaders. The Foundation seeks out non-profit organizations with similar goals to help fund new or current programs.

Our Partner

Girls Inc. partners with schools and other Girls Inc. centers, like the YWCA of Nashville/Middle Tennessee, to focus on the development of the whole girl, learning to value herself, take risks, and discover and develop her inherent strengths.   With a motto of “Inspiring all girls to be Strong, Smart & Bold”, we saw perfect alignment in our visions, and a natural partnership was born!

Our Program

The Chaput-Avery Scholars Program consisting of the Leadership program and the Scholarship Fund have been financed by our Family Foundation and implemented by Girls, Inc.  Since 2019, 42 girls have participated in the Leadership Program and two have been awarded 4-year college scholarships. “The Chaput-Avery Scholars Program will be a game-changer for our girls. It has the ability to create immediate and long-lasting change in their lives and in generations to follow,” said Sharon K. Roberson, President and CEO of YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee.
